Last week, I was given the unbelievably humbling chance to take some photos of 12-day-old Kara Cao. The beautiful daughter of Ziggy and Elanor Cao, newly weds. Baby Kara adorably and patiently slept through even the most humiliating, as well as the more delicate positions we had put her through.

Sometimes bad planning can lead to great things. A few of us decided to go out to Oakbank Park in central Thornhill to test out the new 80-200 f/2.8 AF ED with some wildlife, and boy did we get some! The marsh animals ran the entire array including blackbirds, geese, turtles, and others. Here are a few pictures that show the versatility of the 80-200 as not only a distance tele-zoom but even a fantastic piece of glass for portraiture (minding the distance).

So amongst my journeys I tend to find some interesting toys....

So amongst my journeys I tend to find some interesting toys. Generally speaking, I second guess purchases like these. But I knew, for this 16mm linear fisheye lens, I would not be doing so. This is the kind of lens that most would find unsuitable for general photography, and while I completely agree, I think it has some great applications that I intend not only to explore, but moreso to focus on.

To tease you, here is 180* of Vlad K’s Tomei powered Nissan Skyline GTR. The shot was taken about 2 feet away from the car!

Canadian weather has been quite intermittent as of late, but when friends go on a spontaneous hike the weather always seems to come with it. We were blessed with 20+* weather and gorgeous natural light, as well as the always scenic views care of the Niagra Escarpment. Enjoy the wonders that mother earth has to offer!

Kinked fingers. Serious soul. Jazz lounge. Cash stacks.

Just a taste of some of Justin Bua’s phenomenal artwork coming out of NYC. I happened to have stumbled upon a book of his about a year ago, and am constantly inspired by his vision.

Bua really sets himself apart in not only his visions, but in his processes as well. The imaginative reworking of the human form, and expression of passion is what I think drives this man’s works.

Tommorow will be a great day! I have been asked by a good friend to take some photos of some models for an independant make-up label. Talent for the day will be mostly provided by the wonderful, and beautiful Viktoria Schindler.

The lighting gear has been graciously provided by David Dvir of 2D Photography, including a full Elinchrom D-Lite IT 4 set. I’ll be pumping a maximum of 800w out of these suckers and should make for some great results!

Look out for some photos in the coming days!

Hello all,

I have finally decided to venture into this exciting phenomenon known as blogging. I am very slow to adapt to progressive technologies, but I am always open to give something new a shot.

To say a few words regarding the title of this blog; This will be my place to post my personal, and professional, journies and explorations in a very interdisciplinary way. Here I will include adventures of music, photography, philosophy, and anything else that interests me. So expect a nice variety of features here.

As far as the “unmoved” part goes, it refers to the beginning of a causal chain. A link, without previous links, that begins a chain. Hopefully, my ventures will remain true to this form, and as far as I can I will be as original and creative as I can be.

In the process of documenting, I hope to pass on some sort of knowledge as well. This, in my opinion, is the real reason for such open forms of communication and expression.
